EPTRI attended the 4th Health-RI Conference “Opening Doors to P4 Health”, which took place in Utrecht (The Netherlands) last 17th of January. Saskia de Wildt, from Radboud University Medical Center, presented the EPTRI poster “The European Paediatric Translational Research Infrastructure: moving the paediatric research on the way of innovation” during the meeting and had the opportunity to discuss the project’s activities with colleagues from several university medical centers and the industry.
Health-RI is the interconnected infrastructure for personalized medicine and health research in the Netherlands. Health-RI’s goal for 2023 is to set a state-of-the-art infrastructure for data, samples and images that will be key to facilitating excellent health research and sustainably bridging the health innovation gap.
This year’s Health-RI Conference was focused on the future of health and medicine and the support role of science and research infrastructures as facilitators of a vitally functioning and healthy society. The meeting held scientific presentations from national and international experts exploring Prediction, Prevention, Personalization, and Participation (known as P4 medicine). This new concept of medicine aims to translate front-line scientific research into improved health, using biobanks, cohorts, systems medicine, and big data collected throughout the lifetime of healthy citizens and patients.
