The Bambino Gesù Paediatric Hospital is a Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Health Care, Italy’s main paediatric Hospital providing advanced health care for children and performing basic, clinical and translational research. The Hospital is referral centre for all paediatrics specialties at national and international levels. Clinical activities run side by side with scientific research, aiming at improving and innovating diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Research activities are organized in 6 Areas:
- Infectiology and Development of Paediatric Drugs
- Genetic and Rare diseases
- Multifactorial and Complex diseases
- Immunology
- OncoHaematology
- Clinical and Technological Innovations
Research Laboratories are located in a 5,000 sqm meters facility, equipped with high-tech systems supporting genomics, metagenomics, metabolomics, proteomics, microarray technology, cytogenetic and FISH applications, cytofluorimetry and cell sorting, cell and molecular biology. In 2017 OPBG’s scientific papers reached an Impact Factor value of aprox 3.500 points.
Main tasks in the project:
OPBG will Co-lead the Work package 9 in collaboration with ULIV. Furthermore, OPBG will be involved in the WP2, WP3, WP5, WP6, WP10 and WP11 activities.
