EPTRI recently became a friend of Rare Disease Day, an initiative organized by Eurordis that aims at raising awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives. Rare Disease Day took place on the last day of February each year.
By officially becoming a friend of Rare Disease Day, EPTRI commits to spreading the word about rare diseases by announcing publicly its participation in the EPTRI website, promoting the initiative among its partners, supporters and stakeholders and showing its support on its social media.
More than 300 million people in Europe live with a rare disease and the majority of them are children. EPTRI is fully committed to continuing working on improving basic paediatric research, tailoring on children needs to provide ad hoc research services that will lead to the improvement of the health conditions of children.
