EPTRI is quite busy these days! The consortium was kindly invited to make an oral presentation at the upcoming “Partnerships in clinical trials Europe” conference, which was held in Barcelona from the 27th to the 29th of November, 2018. Giovanni Migliaccio, Scientific Director at the Consorzio per Valutazioni Biologiche e Farmacologiche (CVBF), performed a presentation on “Preclinical development, Research Infrastructures and CRO partnership”. He gave an overview on the involvement of academic institution in translational medicine, the possibility to involve the CRO in the preclinical development and the cost-benefit and the non-profit approach to drug development. In this scenario, he discussed on EPTRI as a “new kid on the block” in the preclinical and clinical development.
The “Partnerships in clinical trials Europe” meeting is supported by more than 1000 stakeholders from across the industry and is aimed at accelerating clinical development and improving trial quality by evaluating and enhancing clinical practices and alliances. Some of the topics that were debated on the panel discussions or case studies are “Patients as Partners”, “Regulatory Updates”, “Patient Recruitment, Retention & Engagement” or “Investigator & Industry Partnerships”.
