Designing the framework for a new European paediatric research infrastructure
Dear All,
We have entered in the last month of this exciting journey that is the ID-EPTRI project, which allowed setting the basis for a new research infrastructure dedicated to paediatric research. This is not the end but just the beginning of a new phase in which we hope you all together will continue supporting the development of the European Paediatric Translational Research Infrastructure.
As many of you may know, EPTRI is finishing the Design Phase and is going to enter in the Preparatory Phase. To this aim, we submitted the EPTRI-IA application under the INFRAIA-02-2020 call for proposals. This marks an important step forward and will allow us to start delivering services to the paediatric research community and provide a blueprint to close the gap between innovative technologies and paediatric drug development processes, using an original scientific approach that is paediatric patients-centred.
We really believe that EPTRI can also make a very significant contribution in raising public awareness and enhancing the need of science for children’s health through developing impactful activities for the relevant stakeholders and the public.
The next step will be the application to include EPTRI within the ESFRI (European Strategic Forum on Research Infrastructures) Roadmap 2021, together with the finalisation of an inter-institutional and multilateral agreement, e.g. a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by all the research Institutions involved in the European Paediatric Translational Research Infrastructure development.
Now we need to join our efforts and continue working together to let EPTRI become soon a reality!
