A new scientific meeting on translational research will be held on April 14th in Rome (Italy), at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (IIS), in Viale Regina Elena, 299. The workshop, organized by the ISS, the Università degli Studi di Bologna and the Università degli Studi di Firenze, is entitled “Translational research on myeloproliferative disorders: from animal models to clinical trials”. Myeloproliferative diseases consist of non-controlled proliferation of one of the blood cell types (red, white or platelets) in the bone marrow, which may lead to blood cancer.
The event is addressed to healthcare workers and research institutions interested in the topic and its mail goals are to provide an opportunity for discussion and analysis on myeloproliferative diseases and to explore the variety of scientific areas in the field of myeloid neoplasms.
Some of the chief personalities in the field will attend the meeting, including Ronald Hoffmann, from Mount Sinai School of Medicine (United States), and Francesco Passamonti, from Ospedali di Circolo (Varese). The highly qualified professionals included in the panel will share recent progress in the field of myeloproliferative disorders. The conference is also intended to eventually reach new collaborative agreements that would increasingly bring the ISS to have relevance in the international arena.
The official language of the workshop is English. Participation is free and the deadline for registration is on April 18th. The application form, available here, should be scanned and sent to [email protected]. Applications to participate will be accepted until reaching the maximum capacity of the room (200 attendees).
