Fondazione per la Ricerca Farmacologica Gianni Benzi Onlus (FGB), is a registered not-for-profit scientific research organisation, founded in 2007 and promoting research in biological, medical and pharmaceutical fields of social interest, with particular reference to rare and paediatric diseases and patients with unmet medical needs. FGB participates in many EU-funded projects, adding its specific capacities in terms of providing support to the regulatory, ethical and methodological activities in the context of interventional and non-interventional studies, secondary use and collection of health data and set up of patient’ Registries,, set-up and implementation of IT tools (surveys, e-learning tools, repositories and databases), educational and dissemination activities. In the national context, FGB is co-founder of the High Technology District “Health and Biotechnology” (H-BIO Puglia) that includes four technological areas: personalised medicine, advanced therapies, technology and services for advanced diagnostics, new manufacturing processes.

FGB is particularly committed to provide educational activities (residential and e-learning courses) and to set up activities in the regulatory sciences sector having as reference the European dimension as the natural framework to favouring innovation and defining common rules and adequate procedures.

Within EPTRI, FGB will provide its expertise in WP2, WP3, WP4, WP10 activities by:

  • a) supporting CVBF in the project governance and sustainability with the aim to integrate the new infrastructure into the European landscape;
  • b) designing the organisational and technical model of the infrastructure that will be in line with the outcomes of the context analysis;
  • b) providing the setting-up and implementation of IT tools;
  • c) providing advice to all the other WPs on ethical aspects.
